The company was founded by a team of automotive engineers and sim-racing enthusiasts who are also pioneers in camera stabilization systems and AI-powered vehicle stability technology. With their expertise and “commitment to “baked in” innovation, Moza Racing offers drivers the opportunity to take their racing experience to the next level, pushing the limits and achieving greater speeds.
The cool thing about Moza is that, based on their pricing, they’re a competitive alternative to the usual budget choices of Logitech, Thrustmaster and the well-known but rarely stocked Fanatec CSL DD.
Their offering stretches to not just wheelbases and wheels, but pedals, dashboards, handbrakes, shifters and various accessories. Today we’re focusing on the wheels and wheelbases product line, but do check out our feature on the CRP sim racing pedals in our pedal buyer’s guide too.
Direct Drive Wheels
When you take a close look at the manufacturing and build quality of Moza’s V2 product line, it’s clear they’ve put great effort into ensuring excellent build quality with high-quality components, smart design choices, and refined execution. In fact, the internal build quality of these MOZA units is comparable, if not better than, that of the Fanatec CSL DD and GT DD Pro.
One interesting draw to the MOZA Racing ecosystem is their Quick Release system, which has been warmly received in comparison to the Fanatec QR (which we know can have play when attached). The Quick Release system used by MOZA is based on the NRG style found in real-life race cars and, has strong similar to the Simmagic QR system, which is currently considered the best in any ecosystem due to its reliability, strength, and ease of use.
MOZA has implemented this Quick Release system flawlessly, with only the slightest amount of flex when forcing the wheel up and down intentionally. This Quick Release system allows for simple hot-swapping of wheels with no risk of damaging any gear, making it a game-changing feature for sim racers.
