Spending a great fortune on a feature-packed PC with all the latest components isn’t necessarily the only option for dipping your toes into the sim racing world. A next-gen console like Xbox can only do a stellar job of offering a realistic sim racing experience – and the good news is that generally, PC Compatible sim racing wheels are usually compatible with XBOX!
If you have an Xbox, playing racing games on the controller with an impressive haptic is fun. But, to take your experience to the next level and move to a realistic feel of the car rather than arcade-style driving, you’re going to need a nice bundle of racing wheels and pedals.
Fortunately, there are tons of options on the market for sim racing wheels and pedals that are compatible with Xbox consoles right out of the box. So whether you’re thinking “build a rig” or “give it a try with a desktop and gaming chair, first”, you’re in the right place.
- CSL DD Forza Motorsport Starter Kit
- Logitech G920
- Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458
- MOZA RACING R3 Racing Wheel and Pedals
- Thrustmaster TMX
- CSL DD READY2RACE McLaren Elite Bundle
In today’s round-up, we’ve hand-picked the best sim racing wheels and pedals that you can pair up with your Xbox and enjoy a realistic experience in Forza. But, before we move on to the main part, there are a few concerns that we’d like to address first.
Do I need a new Racing Wheel for my Xbox?
If you’re rocking an Xbox controlled with a haptic feedback accessory, you might be thinking that the haptic feedback that you experience is enough for you to offer an immersive experience. And while this is right, you can’t compare the driving experience from a controller to a proper sim racing wheel.
With a wheel, you get a proper feel of your car and the track beneath you, and as obvious as it is, it is worth grabbing a racing wheel as it bridges the gap between real-life driving and sim driving. Put simply, having a wheel is a gamechanger!
Will my old Racing Wheel work on my Xbox?
If you’re using a slightly older racing wheel and it isn’t working with your Xbox console right out of the box, you may need Drivehub or an equivalent Racing Wheel Converter that allows you to use your older racing wheels with the next-gen consoles.
Keep in mind that when you’re purchasing a racing wheel for your Xbox, make sure that it is officially licensed to work with the console. Otherwise, you won’t be able to pair the wheel with the Xbox and it will be of no use to you.
For example, the Logitech G29 is designed for PC and PlayStation use and if you want a wheel for your Xbox, you’ll need to purchase either Logitech G920 or Logitech G923 as they’re specifically designed for PC and Xbox use.
Fanatec makes this compatibility issue abundantly clear by using little round icons in their item listings.
Best Sim Racing Wheels and Pedals for Xbox
From Logitech to Thrustmaster to Fanatec, there’s a plethora of racing wheels that you can choose from and with so many options at your disposal, it can be a pain to select the best one that fits your need.
Our selection of racing wheels below covers all price points and performance levels, ensuring that there’s something for everyone, not just the most expensive models.
CSL DD Forza Motorsport Starter Kit
We’re setting the bar very high and going with the finest racing wheel and pedal bundle from Fanatec for our first recommendation.
The CSL DD FORZA MOTORSPORT starter kit boasts a Clubsport wheel Rim with CSL pedals, Clubsport Universal Hub V2, and the iconic CSL DD direct drive wheelbase. For players getting into sim racing on Xbox and want the most realistic experience right away, this bundle right here is right up your alley.
Here, the Clubsport wheel rim on the CSL DD direct wheelbase ensures phenomenal force feedback and with its 5nm torque, you’d feel the rumbling of the engine right under your palms. With this bundle, you’re getting a very precise driving experience and this is something that you won’t get from cog-driven wheelbases.
Similarly, with the Universal Hub V2 for your Xbox, you’ll have all the controls right in front of you besides the wheel. Overall, this starter kit is an ideal option if you’re looking to go high and mighty and don’t mind paying around $700 for a racing wheel and pedals.
After careful consideration and hearing the public feedback, we’ve decided to go with the Logitech G920 over its successor, the Logitech G923 as both of these seem to offer similar performance with the latter costing almost $100 for little to no difference.
The Logitech G920 is a belt-driven racing wheel that offers about 2.1-2.5nm torque and offers very realistic haptic force feedback. Alongside the steering, you’re also getting Logitech pedals as well that further add to the immersion.
The steering wheel is quite attractive and features a leather steering cover with an all-black exterior that provides an incredible look to the rim. With onboard buttons, paddle shifters, 900-degree rotation, and a clamp for easy installation, this Logitech G920 is the perfect starter bundle and comes highly recommended.
Whether new or second-hand and at a price tag of just $299, this is a very desirable option for Xbox gamers who are planning to get started in their sim racing career.

MOZA RACING R3 Racing Wheel and Pedals
Fanatec isn’t the only Microsoft Licensed vendor on the market for racing wheels, MOZA, another reputable brand in the sim racing world, is introducing its own racing wheel and pedal bundle that is designed for Xbox consoles. It’s called the Moza Racing R3.
In this bundle, you’re getting an 11-inch wheel from MOZA with an aluminum body with a rubberized finish for the perfect grip over the wheel. Coupled with a direct drive wheelbase, you’re getting a 3.9nm torque that offers great force feedback. We’ve recently tested the R5 wheelbase – here’s the R5 review.
Also included are the 22 on-board buttons, pedal shifters, and a table clamp for easy installation. Similarly, a 2-pedal set is also included here that boasts a high-strength metallic body with Hall sensors for perfect precision.
MOZA is known for making high-end sim racing gear and it typically offers high-end components at a steep price. Here, MOZA is trying to penetrate the entry-level market and offer a high-end bundle for just €449 and giving its competitors a run for their money.
If you just want to get a taste of what the sim racing world holds for you and don’t want to spend a fortune, the Thrustmaster TMX is the perfect way to start your career.

CSL DD READY2RACE McLaren Elite Bundle
If you’re building a professional sim racing cockpit powered by an Xbox console, the CSL DD READY2RACE MCLAREN ELITE BUNDLE is by far the best wheel and pedal combo that you’ll find on the market.
In this bundle, you’re getting a replica of the McLaren GT3 steering wheel, perfect for racing in professional circles. Aside from its superior quality, you’re getting a ton of on-board buttons and rotatory encoders for customizing your in-game controls on the go.
Similarly, the CSL DD direct wheelbase is included in the package and offers realistic force feedback with 8nm torque that gives the driver a realistic sense of the car. With a price tag of $799, this is one of the best and the most expensive sim racing wheels and pedals that you can pair with your Xbox console, but in our opinion, if this choice meets your budget, it is genuinely likely to keep you entertained for years.
